There never used to be great options when it came to choosing scrubs uniforms in the days gone by. In fact, most of these dress accessories were available only in pale green and white colors. However, as the medical field grew with age, a sort of revolution has come about in this field and today; it is there for everybody to see. Today’s medical uniforms and other accessories are so fashionable and come in different colors that it is tough to decide on which one will suit you the best.
A lot of changes have crept in nurses’ uniforms; for both men and women types. Different brands of these clothing accessories are available in the marketplace today. Most of these scrubs uniforms are being made of highest quality material to render the dress forms durable and flexible. That’s not all; these uniforms are being created with printed tops to make them suitable for different applications. For example, while some of these medical uniforms can be used exclusively for pediatric department, others can be used in the general wards and so on.
So it does not matter which department or field of medicine you’re working in; you’ll always find one of these scrubs uniforms for your purpose. Just as they’re good to look at, they’re useful in your day-to-day activities. But you need to be practical and frugal while selecting these uniform materials because not all of these medical uniforms might serve your purpose. You need to identify the needs of your field of work and choose a dress material accordingly. In fact, they need to be helpful in carrying out your works. For example, in having multiple pockets in these uniforms it is possible to carry along thermometers, first aid box, etc.
You also need to take into consideration type of people you’re taking care of. This is because few patients are known to be sensitive to colors around them and might react adversely when confronted with colors they don’t like. You also need to choose scrubs uniforms based on the area of your workplace. If you’re working in a large hospital, chances are that you might be required to move around a lot and hence you need to choose medical uniforms that are more flexible and comfortable to carry along than the ones you’re free to choose if you were working in a small clinic. The choice of picking these uniforms is entirely up to you. But you need to consider these points well and then base your decision accordingly.

Standing out from the rest always pays rich dividends. The development of numerous designs in cheap nursing scrubs is one such case. People are therefore able to choose among different designs available in the market today. But the problem is wrong decisions taken in this regard can be woefully painful. Certain decisions taken in these regards might force you to think that you were indeed in an oblivious state of mind while taking that decision. Given below are five important steps that you need to look into while buying nursing scrubs.
As a first step, you need to check out dependable stores from where you can buy suitable nursing scrubs for your purpose. Though there are numerous stores for you to choose from, you still need to be careful while making a choice. You need to realize that most of these stores are there to make quick profits and hence can be deceptive. You need to choose a store that places its efforts towards great customer support and that offers different varieties of scrubs to its customers. In this regard, talking to different customers and seeking their personal experiences as well as comparing different stores can be of immense help.
In the second step, your personal measurements need to be determined accurately. Before making a purchase, you need to know your body sizes. This will help you in making a right purchase. The last thing you might need is to buy a pair of scrubs that are ill-fitting. Doing so will immensely harm your reputation and will not serve the purpose of your purchase. Therefore, make it a point to try out different styles before buying any of these products.
Comfort factor also needs to be taken into account before buying nursing scrubs. A lot has to be considered about the materials used in making these products. Rough materials are known to cause damage your skin. Therefore, to be on the safer side, one has to choose only those scrubs that are made of softer materials.
As a fourth step, you need to have personal preferences while buying nursing scrubs. There are numerous designers in the market today and choosing one of the styles out of many is very important. You need to identify what works for you and what doesn’t and make a decision accordingly.
Cost is another thing you need to consider before buying scrubs. For obvious reasons, this step cannot be overlooked. While spending overly on nursing scrubs materials may not be necessary all the time, you still need to make the right choice depending upon your budget.

As we are all aware, the policies that surround nursing uniforms have been undergoing tremendous changes over the past few years. This has been the reason why few hapless nurses have fallen apart when it comes to making a style statement of their own. Given below are a few of the worst policies that have been popping up about dress codes for nursing students and nurses in general.
1] White Scrub Uniforms and other clothing accessories
Most nursing schools and hospitals make it mandatory for all nurses to wear white scrub pants. While few nurses do love this, others really don’t. After all, no nurse would love to see her coworker’s printed undies carefully disguised under her pants. So, to combat this trend, administrators have an option of providing colored pants to their nurses.
2] Tapered Pants
Interestingly, there are many nursing schools across US that require men and women to wear scrub pants that are tapered. Agreed, they may look fine on women as they can get away with this design thanks to their little nursing clogs, but what about men? They may not look so elegant, particularly if they prefer wearing bulky and big trainers.
3] Island-print scrubs
Nurses plying their trade in military installations like Marshall Islands are often encouraged to wear tropical scrub tops. Well, this might look totally different for most people but for others, this setup could force them to be mistaken for staff members in the pool area.
4] Double identification
There is a serious issue with color codes as they tend to create double identification. Many hospitals across the US allow their nurses to wear scrubs that are color- coded. Along with these codes, nurses are required to display a badge that clearly mentions their name and their designation in bold black letters. And what do these doctors get to wear on weekends? Jeans.
5] Giving a professional look through covering up procedures
As we all know, color-coded scrubs are mandatory for nurses working in certain departments. This is largely done to enable these workers to display their professionalism to patients. However, there have been cases when the administrators were made to look silly when the Press Ganey forced them to change the existing policies. Perhaps, the need is there to change the conduct itself.
6] The policy of “no policy”
It is hard to believe but there are certain facilities that do not have any rules that forbid nurses from wearing scrubs of whatever type and color they wish to wear. For example, nurses are often allowed to wear cartoon scrubs well within an ICU. If this isn’t ridiculous, what else is?

Very often, we get to see that stores are constrained with budgets and finances and hence tend to carry very few options. So, to get the best possible deals on styles, prints and colors you need to hit the internet.
2] It is also very important for you to get your personal measurements right. Only by having these details will you be able to pick the right medical scrubs for your purpose. Thankfully, there are many websites out there that have size charts prominently displayed on their websites. By making use of these details you can choose your medical scrubs easily.
3] Selecting an appropriate size for your medical scrubs is important too. After all, you need to look good in these clothes. Wearing ill-fitting scrubs can easily create a negative impact on your image and people might be forced to think that you are not professional enough in your job. So, internet can be relied upon to help you get the right sized accessories. Whether you are looking for tall and big sizes or maternity sizes, plus sizes or petite ones, you are going to find all of them online.
4] If you are constrained in your budget, you can rely on internet to enable you to get excellent deals on medical scrubs. Very often we notice that online stores offer discount sales that are generally not seen in shops. As businesses that are carried online carry very little overhead with them, they are able to offer these discounts on a regular basis.
5] With online shops you can shop for medical scrubs virtually round the clock. However, this is not the case with stores as they remain open for a limited time. Therefore, you do not have to dress, drive around or even take a day off to visit a store. You just need to spend some time online and get the stuff you need.

Have you ever seen a television series that relates to drama scrubs or medical comedy? If you haven’t seen anything of this kind before, you have no idea of what you have missed out on thus far. Believe me, there are few shows that can make you laugh so hard that you might end up spilling your drink or even have an emotional outburst. All of these can be felt if the script of that particular episode as well as writer’s imagination turns out to be a spectacular one. Given below are 5 top episodes of nursing scrubs that you ought to see sooner rather than later.
1] My Cake
This episode starts off when Zach Braff’s character, Dan, opens up his apartment door with a large cake. The next few lines of this episode will make you feel as though you are witnessing a light-hearted moment. Interestingly, the episode opens out as how the Dorian family will tackle the news of death. Furthermore, in this episode, we get to see how Turk and Carla come to know about Turk’s Type II Diabetes. You will also get to see how Turk deals with this condition.
2] My Fallen Idol
This episode starts off when Dr. Cox loses three patients without any delay. The doctor becomes very depressed upon this situation and makes an attempt to get over it and drink his guilt away. He makes a mistake after this, comes to the hospital drunk and is immediately sent home. Seeing each of these developments, JD who was idolizing Dr. Cox all this while, gets dejected. Dr. Cox’s team tries hard to make him come out of this disappointment. However, in the end, JD is made to fill-in Dr. Cox’s shoes.
3] My Philosophy
Through this episode, the writers of ‘Scrubs’ have made an attempt to look through life in different angles. While on one hand, the love story develops between Carla and Turk with both of them deciding to take the next important step, on the other hand, JD is seen bonding with his patient that is gearing up for a heart transplant. As viewers, we will be grateful if we are able to end our lives in a similar way as the patient does at the end of this episode.
4] My ABC’s
This ‘Scrubs’ episode is one of the best in the series. The episode ends with a beautiful song rendered by Joshua Radin that indicates to viewers that doctors too are human beings and that they too have feelings.
